Sweat Stopper!

Jan 18, 2012 by

Let’s talk about IT. It’s about to get real up in here…sometimes things sound better in my head, I swear. The “it” I’m referring to is sweat. We all do it. In fact, it’s pretty cool that the body is so smart it has a bit in cooling system, doncha think?

Believe it or not, I had a rather athletic childhood. In that time I learned that sweat made hair messy, especially for us curly gals. And forget bangs! In more recent years I’ve taken to a hair washing routine that revolves around when my most intense workouts are planned. Even then I find myself tugging at headbands and hats to keep my hair in one place. Enter my latest obsession: Bondi Bands!

It’s safe to say at this point that I am in love with my heavy sweat wicking Bondi Band. She goes with on long walks, runs, to spin class, to the weight room and the all the while protects my hair from sweat and dangling in my face. For that, I am grateful. ;) To boot, when I’m not feeling quite up to a workout, all I have to do is look in the mirror and see “I am a WARRIOR” to feel motivated. I chose that phrase because it reminds me of where I’ve been and to stay mentally tough!

Since I can’t keep a good style secret to myself I’m giving away a super cute high tech bondi band in black with white polka dots, because it’s classic y’all.

I have to have a great support bra! I like the champion 360, but am always on the lookout for more!

My must have workout gear this winter is a warm outer layer, either the zip up jacket I bought on sale this summer or the hoodie that I got for christmas. Both make my workouts a lot warmer and more pleasant.

I have a cute new pink zip-up that I bought for winter running. Unfortunately it was too icey to run and then too warm for the zip-up. Hoping to log some miles in it next month.

  3. My must-have workout gear is black workout capris! Ever since I started wearing them I have loved them especially for running to keep away the chaffing. I can’t believe I used to workout in shorts all the time. Of course I also couldn’t live without a good sports bra and a pony tail elastic!

Black workout capris are my running go-to! I stay away from shorts when I sweat a lot…It’s just no fun.

  4. What date does the contest end? Hope I’m not too late – I’ve been wanting to get a band like that for a while!

My must-have workout gear is a very high quality sports-bra (sooo important!) and my water bottle with a hand-strap. I can’t even go a mile without it!

When I do my workout DVD’s (in the house!), I’ve taken to wearing a pair of boxers, long socks, and a pair of tennis shoes. :) Cute, I know. ;)

When I workout at home I wear a sports bra and pants. I would never be caught dead in that at the gym.

i have NEVER been able to find a headband that stays put when I’m running, so I’m very very eager to try these. Being blessed/cursed with a large chest, a super supportive bra with thick, comfy straps is essential!

It’s almost impossible to find a headband that won’t slip when I run. Bondibands have survived the test. Seriously amazing!

My must have work out gear is black capris – recently stumbled onto the Lady Footlocker brand and love them – especially the price. Though I always have my BondiBand!

I’ve never really shopped at Lady Footlocker. But I have to say some of my favorite workout clothes are cheaper finds than the fancy athletic brands.
